Biotechnology has created a new “cyan-collar” workforce segment where green technologies and blue-collar manufacturing have converged. But the skills development gap is real and a pressing issue in leading bioeconomies. Canada’s own biomanufacturing sector is on the verge of needing hundreds of thousands of skilled workers, but do we have enough people to fill the roles? In this session, we’ll discuss strategies and address industry-driven needs for filling this employment gap.
