Rodrigo Arancibia

Senior Director in the Office of Life Sciences and Biomanufacturing Readiness, Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED)

Rodrigo has been with ISED since 2015 leading and contributing to the creation of various major government initiatives, including the Innovation and Skills Plan to strengthen Canada’s innovation ecosystem and support the growth of companies, industries and national networks. In his current role as Senior Director of Life Sciences Industries, he plays a central role in the development of Canada’s industrial response to pandemic preparedness as well as in the implementation of Canada’s Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Strategy. He represents ISED at various national and international fora to highlight government priorities in the sector and engages in bilateral and multilateral discussions with major global companies and peer countries to realize investment and partnership opportunities. Out of this work, Rodrigo has supported the advancement of new initiatives and policies to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of Canada’s life sciences and biomanufacturing sector, promoted strong partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and supported the deployment of targeted investments to accelerate commercialization efforts and deepen industrial capabilities. He is regularly communicating with stakeholders to discuss issues that inform policy priorities.  

 

Rodrigo holds a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Alberta.
