Suman Rao

Suman Rao is a Senior Associate at Lumira Ventures, a leading North American venture capital firm. Suman joined the firm in 2021 and together with the rest of the investment team, is involved in identifying, supporting and building successful companies led by passionate entrepreneurs, with a goal to bring cutting-edge therapies to patients with high unmet need. Prior to joining Lumira, Suman worked at L.E.K. Consulting (Boston), a global management consulting firm, as a Senior Life Sciences Specialist. She provided strategic advice to biotech and pharma companies on growth and commercial opportunities, pipeline expansion, therapeutic area prioritization, etc. Before joining L.E.K., Suman did a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. During this time, she worked with a multidisciplinary team to study cancer biology and identified novel ways to treat resistant cancers. Suman has a PhD from the Division of Experimental Medicine and a BSc in Biochemistry from McGill University.
